A coming-of-age drama about school boys and bullies and the symbols and petty cruelties that define the early years of our lives.
REVIEW
The short film "The Bat" is a coming-of-age drama about the tension among three high school boys in a small town. It deals with adolescents' feeling of insecurity and anxiety within comradeship and their sense of belonging. Kwak, the main protagonist, is caught between the two friends whose personalities are extremely opposite: Chul-Woong, the popular one, who is a bully, and Darky, the underdog who is infatuated by a bat. A sense of menace becomes more evident as we see what happens to the bat.
